You haven't heard of “UX writing” yet? That may well be the case, as this term has only been in use in German for a few years. In practice, however, you have certainly already come into contact with it – because in terms of content, “UX Writing” isn‘t really new ...
According to “German UPA”, the professional association of German Usability and User Experience Professionals (a name that raises doubts about improving any “user experience”), UX Writing is the production, evaluation and optimization of texts that guide users through interactive systems and support them in achieving their goals.
However, this frequently chosen approach is a little too limited for me. For even in non-interactive systems, it is important to write texts in such a way that they fulfill their purpose. In other words: A good user experience is not only crucial for digital products, but also for physical products, even if this is often not recognized.
The essential criteria of good UX writing alone do in fact sound quite familiar: useful, understandable, concise, structured, empathic, brand-compliant, consistent, error-free. Aren't these also the qualities that I've been using for decades in my work as a translator and technical writer anyway? Of course they are!
Admittedly, in the digital world (website, app, software) there are a few special features, but the wheel is not being reinvented here either.
In particular, I offer the following services in this area:
That's why you can also turn to me with confidence when it comes to UX writing. Because I've been doing UX writing for almost four decades, even if it wasn't called that back then.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with me.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about my service portfolio.
